Kit: A new Day - Mel Hains
Wave templates: Delicious Scraps

This is life - Piazza Navona

Journaling: I spent an entire afternoon at a cafe in Piazza Navona, just relaxing under the fine mist, enjoying a glass of wine and watching the people go by...That’s life!

Gotta love starbucks

Journaling: After a day of missed flights, trains and busses, a starbucks coffee and muffin was the biggest treat!

My journey

Journaling: Ah, the travel bug... It has bitten me and bitten me solidly! This picture was taken on my second trip to Europe, in June 2010. Admittedly, it was totally different from my first trip (in 2008) but just as exciting! I could just wander around in another country for ages, experiencing and observing their way of life. Although I've just finished paying off my poor credit card, I hope the next trip won't be in the too distant future!

Yazelle's third birthday

I just can't believe how quickly my niece, Yazelle, has grown up... Here's a page of her third birthday party... I made the page at a Speedscrap..

Journaling: You had the most fun at your third birthday party! Although the moment was too much when we sang Happy Birthday, you didn’t waste any time to show everyone on every photo that you are indeed turning three! You had a great time opening your presents and playing with them.

Courage

This might be the most difficult, yet most fulfilling, LO that I have ever scrapped.

Journaling: This is the first time that I scrap to get something off my chest. I think it might be therapeutic. My mom has survived three rounds of breast cancer, including a unilateral mastectomy. Yesterday she went for her six-monthly check-up, which includes complete bloodtests and organ- and bone scans. They found growths on her liver, and she is set to start aggressive chemotherapy again today, after being cancer-free for three years. This has come as a great shock to us, but I know that we will get the strength to get through this again.. I love you mom...

" In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.. The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Fil 4:6-7

Obnoxious Manneken

Journaling: While visiting Brussels, we had the pleasure of experiencing a “dressing ceremony” for the (in)famous manneken. While the crowd had their eyes trained on the real manneken, this little guy was busily squirting water at unsuspecting people! And just look at his obnoxious caregiver...

Crossing the road (Boys Only!)

08/04/2008
Journaling: How did the chicken cross the road? ...by using the underground walkway from the Champs-Elysees, of course! Only we didn’t know about that.. We stood there pondering how to get across the road to inspect the Arc de Triomphe a little closer. After a few minutes we already decided that everyone under the Arc were surely going to sleep there, because traffic wasn’t letting up. But then we found the walkway...luckily...

Biggest free hanging Cuckoo Clock

Hier's 'n foto van 03/04/08, toe ons op 'n Reinvaart gegaan het. Ons het by 'n paar dorpies langs die rivier aangedoen, onder andere St Goar, waar die grootste vryhangede koekoek horlosie gesien kan word.

~Here's a photo of 03/04/08, when we went on a cruise on the Rhine. We visited a few towns next to the river, one of which was St Goar, where we saw the biggest free hanging cuckoo clock.~

Tight Squeeze (Oh My - Mel Hains)

Journaling:

01/04/2008 Today we started exploring the Rhine Valley. We went by coach from Assmanshausen to the Niederwald Monument. Then we took the CABLE CAR downhill to Rudesheim. The funniest part was that my dad ended up sitting on top of me, because he had to jump into the car at the last moment .. and the car actually only seats 2 people! The ride down was scary (as always) but it still was a beautiful view! We spent the rest of the day in Rudesheim, drinking beer, and looking around the town said to be one of the most visited places in Germany.

Am Freezing, Want Gelato (Moody Grunge)

Ek was so opgewonde oor die "walking tour".

Journaling:

27/03/2008 Today I went on a walking tour in Rome. Too bad that it was raining..and I was therefore freezing.. The weather didn't lessen my appetite for GELATO and luckily I had my very big red umbrella handy! The tour visited the Colosseum (inside!), Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and various other piazzas, plazas and places.

~ I was so excited about my walking tour! Not even the rain could dampen my spirit. To think I was INSIDE the Colosseum! I just can't describe the feeling..

I used Mel Hains' kit Moody Grunge for this page.~

When life gives you lemons - Mel Hains

Hier's 'n bladsy met When Life Gives You Lemons(wat 'n fantastiese naam) slegs by iscrapbook beskikbaar.

Hierdie bladsy is deel van 'n reeks wat ek probeer maak - ek was presies 'n jaar terug op vakansie in Europa.  Nou wil ek elke dag 'n bladsy scrap van laasjaar se vakansie.  Hier is my eerste bier in Europa - in goeie ou Rome! En dit was 'n "blonde" ene.  Die foto's is in 'n pub naby Santa Maria Maggiori geneem, op 'n baie reënerige Maandagaand. Prima Birra beteken Eerste Bier in Italiaans (ek dink!!).

~ Bet you didn't know, but I'm a new PERMANENT guest CT for the wonderfully talented Mel Hains!! I get to work with all the kits I want to, when I want to... Yes, now I sound like a spoilt little girl. But I am! So deal with it LOL...

Here's a LO with her new kit When Life Gives You Lemons (what a fantastic name!) available only at iscrapbook

This LO is part of a series I'm trying - exactly a year ago I visit Europe for a month long holiday. I want to scrap one page per day for the next month... Here is my first beer in Europe, in good old Rome! And it was a "blonde" one. This was in a pub close to Santa Maria Maggiori, on a very rainy Monday evening.
(Prima Birra means First Beer in Italian..I think!) ~
