Bourton on the Water

Toe ek in Maart/April Europa toe was, het ek vir my niggie Yolanda in Engeland gaan kuier. Sy het my na Bourton on the Water, in die Cotswolds, toe gevat.  Daar's 'n model dorpie wat 'n presiese replika van die dorp is! Kompleet met nog 'n model dorpie binne in die model dorp ens ens.  Al die geboue is gemaak van die Cotswold steen - dit was soooo mooi vir my! Maar ek't natuurlik totaal verkluim...

Journalling: I visited my cousin in England in March O8.  She took me to see Bourton on the Water, in the Cotswolds.  The model village really fascinated me, and the cotswold stone is just beautiful!

~Can you believe there's even a model village inside the model village, etc etc...?! I loved the village...but nearly froze to death!  I used One Memory At a Time's "A Little Bit of this" for the LO. ~

Kan jy glo, ek's op NOG 'n Creative Team!!! ~Can you believe it, I'm on another CT!! I nearly fell off my chair when I got the email.  This time I actually applied for the team ( it was an open CT call) because I'm absolutely CRAZY about Christy Skagg's designs.  Well, all I can say right now is that I will be playing BIG TIME from now on. Is sy nie net te dierbaar nie?! Yazelle, besig om sommer maar net haar oulike self te wees.  Ek't One Memory At a Time se Kensington gebruik - hierdie is nou regtig MY tipe kleure! Die bladsy is vir die Picasso Challenge by SAS - ons moes 'n raam VERF. Nouja, ek's nie eintlik 'n kunstenaar nie, maar ek hou nogal van die eindresultaat....!

~Isn't she just too cute?! Yazelle, my brother's DD, busy being her own adorable self.  I used One Memory At a Time's Kensington - now these are really MY type of colours!! The LO is for the Picasso Challenge at SAS - we had to PAINT a frame. Well, I'm not really an artist, but I kinda like the result....!~

Cell phone trouble!

My selfoon het nou finaal ingekonk. Simpel ding.  Maar hy dreig al lankal, so gelukkig (dankie TOG vir Nokia PC Suite!!) het ek 'n backup gemaak met die eerste tekens van ingee.  So nou, as ek EENDAG my pa se ou telefoon gelaai kry, kan ek al my goete net so oorlaai op die ander Nokia. Dankie tog! Gelukkig kan ek opgradeer in Des.... 

~My cell phone has finally given in..given up... Stupid thing.  But he's been trying to die for a while now, so luckily (thank GOODNESS for Nokia PC Suite!!) I made a backup at the first signs of trouble.  So now, when I get my dad's old phone charged ONE DAY, I can just load all my stuff onto the other Nokia. Thank goodness!! Luckily I can upgrade to a new phone in Dec...~

Sleepless night

Ek's vandag skoon deur die weer... Het eers 2h gaan slaap! En die oorsaak? Sundays at Tiffany's.  Ek weeeeet ek moenie eers begin lees wanneer ek in die bed klim nie, want ek hou nie op voordat die boek klaar is nie! Maar dit was so 'n mooi storie, ek kon nie anders nie. So 'n goedvoel ene. Ek beveel dit beslis aan!

~I'm completely upside down today...Only went to bed at 2h! And the culprit? Sundays at Tiffany's.  I totally know I shouldn't even start reading when I go to bed, because I just can't stop before my book's finished.  But it was such a nice story, I couldn't help myself! Such a feel good one... I definitely recommend this one!~

Die agtergrond van hierdie bladsy is 'n foto wat ek van 'n straat in Rome geneem het - ek't geweet ek moet dit iewers gebruik! Die foto is redelik vanselfsprekend. Ek't Family Honeymoon van One Memory At a Time gebruik - en ek het die gevoel ek gaan dit nog vir 'n hele paar bladsye gebruik!!

Ek het hierdie bladsy gemaak vir die Style Challenge by GDS.  Hierdie maand moes ons white space (negatiewe spasie) gebruik het.  Dis amptelik die 2e white space bladsy OOIT vir my.  Die foto is geneem toe ek myself tuisgemaak het in Keukenhof, Nederland, toe ons in April 08 daar was.

Ek het One Memory At a Time se LIEFLIKE Family Honeymoon gebruik. Het ek nie gesê dat daar MOOI goete gaan verskyn hierdie week nie?! Daar's nogal 'n snaakse storie agter die kit se naam - Alisha-hulle het 'n Europese vakansie beplan, en toe is dit op die ou end sommer haar suster se wittebrood ook! Dink jou in, wittebrood saam met 15 familielede... Dit wil gedoen wees!

~I made this LO for the Style Challenge at GDS.  This month we had to do a white space layout.  This is officially my 2nd white space LO EVER. This is a picture of me making myself at home in Keukenhof, Netherlands in April 08.

I used One Memory At a Time's STUNNING kit Family Honeymoon.  The wordart and alpha also come from the kit.  Didn't I tell you there some BEAUTIFUL things will be happening here this week? There's a funny story behind the name of the kit - Alisha's family planned a European Holiday, and in the end it was also her sister's honeymoon! Imagine a honeymoon with 15 family members... That's something, hey?! ~ 

Never stop Discovering

Hierdie bladsy is vir die Sketch / Template Challenge  by GDS.  Daar's ekstra bonusse as ons Andrea Gold se Just for Fun ook gebruik het. Hierdie foto's van Yazelle is in Aug 08 geneem - sy't die blomme ontdek, en was vreeslik gefassineer daarmee!  Die geskryf lees soos volg:

Hier's 'n bladsy met Thankful Heart van One Memory At a Time.  Ons vier nou nie Thanksgiving in Suid-Afrika nie, maar dit keer my nie om dankbaar te wees nie! Dankbaar vir familie, vriende, pret en dat ek uiteindelik my Meestersgraad klaargekry het!

Ek het ook hierdie bladsy ingeskryf vir die Principles & Elements of Design Challenge by GDS - dit gaan hierdie maand oor die beginsel van herhaling in ontwerp.

~This is a page I made with Thankful Heart from One Memory At a Time.  We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in South Africa, but that doesn't stop me from being thankful! Thankful for family, friends, fun and for finishing my Mastersdegree at long last!

I just love the colours in this kit, the swirls and those leaves!

I also submitted this LO for the Principles & Elements of Design Challenge at GDS.  This month the focus is on repetition in design.

Cocktails in LA

Ek't al amper vergeet ek was in Los Angeles!! Ja reg...LOL... In elk geval.. Ek't hierdie bladsy gemaak vir die Elements Challenge by SAS - ons moes 'n eet/drinkding element gebruik en ten minste een foto. Darem nie rocket science nie, né! Hierdie foto van my is geneem toe ons in 2005 in LA was vir die Golden Key konferensie. Ek en Leandra het weggeglip vir 'n heeeerlik verfrissende cocktail (die ander meisies was nog nie 21 nie, so hulle kon nou ongelukkig nie alkohol geniet nie ROFL ROFL!!)

~I've nearly forgotten that I ever went to Los Angeles!! Yeah right..as if..LOL.. Anyway... I made this page for the Elements Challenge at SAS - we had to use something edible / a beverage as element and at least 1 photo. At least not rocket science, hey? This foto was taken when we were in LA for the Golden Key Conference in 2005. We slipped away for a wonderfully refreshing cocktail (the other girls weren't 21 yet, so they couldn't enjoy the alcohol ROFL ROFL!!)~
